I just can't get enough of 1969 Elvis! So many great groundbreaking songs came out of this year. His biggest Suspicious Minds, an instant and timeless classic.
Do yourself a favor check out the albums From Elvis in Memphis and Memphis to Vegas/Vegas to Memphis (a.k.a Elvis is Person!)... as a friend put it perfectly earlier today; "Elvis sounded different during this period. He was as soulful and expressive as ever. But there was an edge and a different timbre to his voice. A kind of clean clear raspiness! If that’s even a thing!! I also think he was just healthy and happy... It was the beginning of a new.... everything. Sound, songwriting and audio engineers were reaching for a new decade. Elvis, I believe was mixed in all of that and he absorbed it. The result was awesome music. Still sounds fresh to me to this day.
