Description
On January 1st armed Zapatistas took control of cities in the Chiapas region. Declaring war on the government and for the mistreatment of the indigenous population. Unfortunately their rebellion didn't last long as they were severely outnumbered and outmatched by their foes. On January 12th a ceasefire was declared and the ezln retreated back to their outposts in the Lacandon jungles. Today their organization is still present and has gained the support of the Mayas and many communities in Mexico.
