What I found intriguing is that this theme ended up not being used for both the final build of 'Sonic 3' and Sonic & Knuckles Collection (PC). This triumphant theme was likely going to be Super Sonic's. If so, I just cannot understand why this was replaced with the invincibility theme, which, by the way, can get repetitive. Other speculations regarding this theme's purpose were for a scrapped competition stage or an ending cutscene. Some say this could have been an earlier Sky Sanctuary, Balloon Park or even the original credits theme, but these seem unlikely to me. Anyway, I must mention that the bass in this theme is overpowering, and those high-pitched backing melodies are piercing.
